Tinkham Road is just your basic, run-of-the mill USFS campsite.  If you close your eyes and fall into a deep sleep, you can pretend that the trucks you hear on the freeway are actually torrents of water rushing through a gorgeous mountain river.

I was super-stoked, however, to try out our new Marmot Limelight 3 person tent.  Setup was a breeze, taking all of 5 minutes.  The tent was incredibly lightweight, water-resistant and warm at night.  You can use the fly and footprint to build a shelter in lieu of assembling the entire tent.  It's a quick 1 person job! I loved it!

Hickory Run State Park
One of my all-time favorite places to scramble around, run across millions of boulders and hike.  Created by periglacial activity in the Ice Age, Boulder Field is a geological marvel located at the base of the Pocono Mountains in Carbon County, PA.  From hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling, you are sure to find an activity to please all in your group.  For more difficult hikes, check out Boulder Trail (3.5 miles) or Shades of Death (1.5 miles).  The best time to go is in the autumn, so you can see the beauty of the landscape as the trees change color for the season.  Take a look at PA's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Educational Series online for more information on the geological makeup of the area.
