Tonight I begin a 4-part climbing movement series at The Seattle Bouldering Project.  These 1.5 hour classes run for the next four weeks and focus on dynamic and technical movement, footwork and climbing fundamentals.
Class #1 – Bouldering Fundamentals
Bouldering Fundamentals begins with techniques for topping out and safe falling. The class moves onto the effective use of the differing types of handholds. Then, the bulk of this session is spent on proper body positioning and deciphering route sequences.
They also hold classes on a daily basis that are free with membership including everything from TRX training, vinyasa yoga and Zumba.

Stone Gardens in Ballard is great for lead-rope and top-roping, bouldering, and an array of classes from beginners techniques to advanced movement and multi-pitch climbs.  If you're not a member, you receive 2 weeks free with each class you sign up for.  A great little gym for those who enjoy a variety of problems, Stone Gardens also has a separate room and an upstairs location for a less-crowded bouldering experience.  They are also building a new Bellevue location, which we are direly hoping will allow crossover for members of the Ballard gym, being that this gym is in desperate need of a facelift!
